Donald Pugliani retired in a hurry from his previous job as a hitman for a New Jersey Mafia family. Taking what money he had, he ran for Arizona. Although he was never charged, the government was able to prove a civil forfeiture case against him, and in 1995, he was broke as could be, living in Tucson, with no prospects. Fortunately for him, he met Rafael Gomez at the golf course, remembered the gentlemanly crook and was able to get a job with him. He walks slow these days, and doesn't do anything flashy, but he gets people killed when people need killing with a cold efficiency that doesn't match his usual ugly square-john golf shirts. The salad days of the war against the MDO are over, and Pugliani fears that the days when the Gomezes will keep him on the payroll are numbered, especially once Rafael's health gets the best of him. He doubts he has a third career in him.
Pugliani was responsible for the death of Mateo Gomez, father of Mercedes Gomez.
